Shining the Light on a Family in Darkness
-
“Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! When the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand. And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage. Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil. In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! turning away he hath divided our fields. Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast a cord by lot in the congregation of the LORD”
(Micah 2: 1-5).

In the private meeting between Dan Gayman and Jerry Gentry on November 15, 2000, Dan Gayman clearly states that he did not bat an eye when Jerry Gentry asked for a clear deed to Scott Stinson's house, and that he added without any compunction the ten acres behind his house, as well as the severance pay for one year which is usual and customary for long term associates who have made major contributions to an organization. However, less than two months later, Dan Gayman made a public radio broadcast that he was put under duress by a wandering and homeless vagrant who had stumbled upon his church six years earlier, hungry and without a job.

November 15, 2000 Meeting with Jerry
-
Dan: "Jerry, you know that there is nothing in this world -- and you and I are talking as two dear friends -- there is -- and with God as my witness -- He knows -- my God in heaven knows, that I love Scott Stinson and his family."
November 15, 2000 Meeting with Jerry
Dan: "Well, Jerry, just as a matter between us, and because I have to lean on your shoulders heavy, to be my friend, to help me to be a better helper to Scott. I'm going to have to lean on your shoulders and your counsel to be a helper to Scott, at this point in time. See, Jerry, now, from my perspective, and this is where I need you to help me, from my perspective, from the time of your arrival until we sit here tonight, I have with all my heart and diligence tried to cross every "T," dot every "I," do everything that I personally know in good conscience that I can possibly do, and I will continue to do that."
November 15, 2000 Meeting with Jerry
Dan: "Well, Jerry, do you trust me for this? Now, you know that you've been here three days. And you know, Jerry, that I have essentially with all my heart and soul endeavored to make this transition as peaceful, as uneventful as I know how to make it."
November 15, 2000 Meeting with Jerry
Dan: "I'm going to print in the Watchman what he wanted me to print. I'm doing everything, I'm crossing every "T," dotting every "I."
November 15, 2000 Meeting with Jerry
Dan: "See, when you leave to go to Texas, Jerry, you know that I'm going to be praying for Scott, as I've already -- I've already prayed for Scott every day, night and morning, this week. I prayed for him in the Sanctuary publicly a while ago. Scott Stinson will have as many prayers from my lips as he will from any person on this earth. Because I want Scott to be successful, Jerry. I want to see Scott Stinson find his spiritual fulfillment. I want to see this man turn on and do what God created him to do. And I'm going to be praying that that happens."
November 15, 2000 Meeting with Jerry
Dan: "I'll tell you what Jerry. Here's -- here's -- think of this -- think of it this way. There is a God in heaven who owns the heavens and the earth. And through the benevolent goodness of a good hearted man, a traveling pilgrim, who came through and there were two ministers that didn't have a house to live in. Two houses were raised up. OK? Now, when that house, when you asked as a condition for Scott's departure for that house, Jerry, we didn't bat an eye. Not only that, but we gave without any compunction, we added 10 more acres. And right down the road just, just a few weeks ago, less than a half a mile down the road, that land sold for eleven hundred dollars an acre. So I think that was being very generous with Scott. And his severance pay, now I think that that should have sent a message to Scott Stinson that we have, we have, that we have great feeling for him and his future, that we want him to be everything that God wants him to be. Amen."
November 15, 2000 Meeting with Jerry
Dan: "Well, Jerry, my friend, here is the bottom line. The bottom line is, that you and I both want to see a family soar like the eagle. We want to see Scott Stinson's ministry fly. And I believe what Scott has to do, he's got his home, he's got his severance pay, he's got my assurance of passing out these letters to every single soul, and he's got my assurance that my official spin on Scott Stinson is -- Scott Stinson has launched a ministry. Let's pray for the success of Scott Stinson. Amen! Well on that note, I believe that -- I believe this is concluded. Unless you have something else. No! I'm all finished."
February 6, 2001 Radio Broadcast
Dan: "The departed minister, Scott Stinson, came into this area some six years ago financially broke and without a place to live, no means to feed his family, and apparently unable to obtain employment. This congregation has taken the best care of this minister and his family that we possibly could, but drew the line when he elected to leave here, and demanded twenty thousand dollars in cash for himself, another twenty thousand for a Texas friend, the deed to a one hundred thousand dollar parsonage that had been deeded to the church and had not been given for any private individual, and furthermore demanded the deed to additional property. When our Nevada attorney requested that he return the money and the nonconveyable deed, he responded by making allegations which we categorically deny and which we are very saddened have been reported by the Joplin Globe. We are very sorry for this bad report that has been raised up by a dissident minister and the Joplin Globe, and we thank you for your patience and kindness while these matters work their way to a full resolution."
