Shining the Light on a Family in Darkness
-
“Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! When the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand. And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage. Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil. In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! turning away he hath divided our fields. Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast a cord by lot in the congregation of the LORD”
(Micah 2: 1-5).

Many people have been led to believe that Scott Stinson could have received fair and equitable treatment without Jerry Gentry representing him. However, this is simply not true, as the comments recorded below indicate. No one was better qualified, nor more appropriate to represent Scott Stinson, than Jerry Gentry, who was a long time friend of both Dan Gayman and Scott Stinson, and the original donor who had supplied Scott with the funds to build his house. If you have been led to believe that any other person could have achieved the same, equitable separation, please think again. Only Jerry Gentry was in a unique position to know all the facts and therefore handle this matter in a fair and equitable manner for all parties involved.

Dan: "Do you think, Jerry, as you reflect back upon the last three days, do you think, Jerry, that I would have been willing to sit down and negotiate Scott's departure, and I know you'll give me an answer from your heart of honesty, because I know that you are an honest man."
Jerry: "Pastor Dan, that is a hard question for me to answer, but I will be honest. And I will say, I do not know. I believe the Dan Gayman that I know when acting alone without the influence of others would do that. But I am not sure that you would have been able to have brought the conclusion that came about, because I feel you are responsible enough to some of your associates and advisors who would have taken an entirely different position toward Scott. And therefore, I would fear that they would have had your ear, and perhaps Scott -- and I'm just shooting absolutely straight -- I fear that Scott might have been sent down the road with far less than what I would have felt would have been fair and right for this man."
Dan: "Well, Jerry, I know that, of course, you are a very good middle man, liaison man, brokerage. You're a good diplomat. Normally people would not say that a perceiver would be good in that position. But I think you have other qualities that make you good in that position and that's basically because you're a people person. I mean, you understand people. Now, I hope that no one -- I hope you don't think that I'm trying to flatter you here. In other words, you have to be able to know how to work with people, to be a broker between people."

“And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you” (II Peter 2:2-3).
